Fishing Program – Panama Sport Fishing Lodge – Playa Reina Mariato

DAY 1 – ARRIVAL to Republic of Panama (Pty) – Tocumen International Airport

When you land at Tocumen Airport in Panama City it is preferred you arrive at mid day or prior to noon so there is sufficient time for the drive to the lodge during daylight hours. 

After disembarking the airplane you will be guided to immigration. Make sure your entry forms are filled out before you enter Panama immigration. (they pass these forms out while you are on the plane) Also make sure your passports expiration date is more than six months away or further. Next you will exit immigration and get your bags and fishing gear before you enter customs. Fishing gear, surfboards and other oversized items will be placed by hand next to your carrousel. Once you enter customs they will ask you your destination while in Panama and you tell them El Rio Negro Lodge in Playa Reina Mariato. Upon exiting customs you proceed to a waiting crowd. In this crowd you will see our English speaking driver waiting with your group name on the sign. Our driver will help you with your bags and will drive you to the lodge. There will also be a cooler in the shuttle with your favourite beverages including beer. (Our driver is a great resource of local knowledge and can be reserved for private sight seeing tours before or after your trip at El Rio Negro Panama Sport Fishing Lodge.)

When you arrive at the lodge our cooks will have appetisers and your dinner ready to go so you can eat and get to bed for fishing the following day. 

DAY 2-3-4 FISHING – Coiba National Park, Jicaron, Jicarita, Cerra Hoya, Isla Cebaco, tuna coast and Aguja reef

5:20 a.m. – Wake up Call. Coffee and breakfast is waiting in the eating area. 

6:00 a.m. – We depart the lodge for beach to board the boat

6:15 a.m. – We are boarded and ready to depart. On the water for 10 hours each day. 

4:00 p.m. – We arrive back at the beach at and transported to the lodge. 

5:00 p.m. – Appetizers are served 

6:00 p.m. – Dinner is served

6:45 p.m. – Dessert / Kitchen closed

DAY 5 Departure from Lodge in Playa Reina Mariato

7:00 a.m. Breakfast is served. Our staff will load your bags and fishing gear into the shuttle.

8:00 a.m. Depart the Lodge in Mariato for Panama City

We can arrange canal tours, Casco Viejo tours and many others with or driver upon your arrival to Panama city.
